Our inspiration: From family values to community impact
Family Frontiers was born from the rich experiences of our founders, Nicole and Talon Richey, who witnessed the transformative power of family-first cultures in both business and personal life. Nicole's background in family life, rec therapy and business studies at Brigham Young University, coupled with her research into personality types for team building, revealed a profound opportunity. She recognized that businesses, through their operations and online presence, serve as powerful billboards for strengthening families. This insight fueled the vision for Family Frontiers: to create global impact by partnering with businesses to promote the family narrative.

Envisioning a brighter future: Empowering families and communities
We believe in the unique creativity and innovation divinely endowed in every person. Family Frontiers empowers individuals and business owners to harness this potential, with our support, to champion the family narrative and address critical societal needs in their own unique way. Strong families are the bedrock of society, and by focusing on what truly matters, we aim to reverse the trend of devaluing families, which can lead to societal challenges and focus on creating stronger societies.

Our core beliefs: The heritage of family and belonging
Our mission is deeply rooted in the wisdom of sayings like, "Children are a heritage of the Lord and happy is the man that has his quiver full," a cherished phrase from Nicole's Grandpa Dean. Both Nicole and Talon come from large, supportive families, Talon's mother from 15 children, and Nicole's Mother from 11, and father from 12 . That's over 56 aunts and uncles and 200+ cousins. Experiencing firsthand the love, friendship, and strength that many strong family members bring, they wanted to share the love and knowledge that creates strong families. In a world increasingly focused on individualism, we strive to return to our roots, prioritizing the unity and sacrifice that define strong families. As Talon often observed, true wealth and happiness are found not in material possessions, but in the richness of strong families and children.

Our Roots: Thank you to our many supporters and family inspirations
We want to thank the many family members who have had such an impact on our life by their examples of love, strength, and putting family first. "To love is to serve, and to serve is to love."- Grandmother, Jaynann Payne.
First, we would like to honor my Grandmother Jaynann Payne who taught us the value of family through reading to us, extended family family nights, knighting us as important members of the family, and constantly speaking out in behalf of the family in colleges, writing books, in other countries, at the United Nations, and most lovingly, to us. Below is a video of her talking about the importance of family and some insightful and fun ideas for strengthening families.
Our father Tom who served in the children's unit at the Utah state hospital and was always there as a listening ear and never missed a school activity and showed us love was spelt Quality Time. My mother, Louise who placed such a high value on marriage, sharing marriage books, the importance of weekly date night and loving each other. She also taught us to use our talents and serve families in the community, through serving in various service organizations, promoting family events in the community, creating home kids camps, helping with family events, serving the elderly in nursing homes, and putting on concerts inviting us to sing as a family for others.
Our adopted father in law, Ken Krouge, who used the businesses he had to give back to the community through charitable organizations and is constantly reminding us who we are as children of Christ and promoting principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ in the community. We learned the Family=Jesus Christ. They are both synonymous with each other. Crystal Krouge, who is the prime example of homemaking, through the healthiest and most well put together dinners, gardening, nurturing grandchildren and being a true nurturing source of strength to all around her.
Mother Sunshine who is an eternal optimist, taught strong family values to her children and is consistently helping the homeless with a place to live. Father Manuel who wrote fun children's stories for all his children and never misses a week to call each one of them.
Our cousins, Hugh and Shelby who lovingly bring others into their home, give inspirational Christ and family centered art and quotes to others, have helped homeschool our children, and have taught us the true meaning of what it means to be a father and mother in the home.
Grandpa Don and Paula and Kathy (after Paula passed away) who taught us all how to work hard, quizzed us on family facts about one another, and made some of the funnest and most memorable family reunions fitting in 11 kids, spouses, and grandchildren consistently every other year.
Uncle Jayson and Aunt Rachelle who invited us cousins to come nanny their children in Texas throughout the years to grow close to cousins and instill in us that we would be good mothers and fathers. My many aunts and uncles and cousins (some of the Payne Aunties and Grandma Jaynann pictured here) who've continuously reached out to attend plays, game nights, dinners, and connect and support one another.
You've all been such an inspiration to us and we wouldn't be who we are or doing what we're doing without you.
"Family is the heart of our existence, providing love and support. Family is not just an important thing, it is everything."
Jaynann Payne, Mother of 12, UN Family Delegate, Mrs. Utah, Speaker
